Step Up For Students

My daughter was awarded one year ago (January 2022). I uploaded all necessary documentation through account on their website. And guess what? We are still waiting… probably, for nothing. I sent emails, tried to reach them out by web chart and phone many times. But they just responded automatically. I am wary about our personal data that they collected. They can be scammers which use your personal data for stealing donations.

Parents in Jacksonville waiting on the Transportation Check in the mail BEWARE!!My son was awarded the Transportation Option scholarship and the First check was Disbursed about a week ago. I know this because I receive USPS Informed Delivery alerts with images of the mail coming to my box. I saw the check and check images on the USPS app about a week ago. I work from home and I have cameras so I see the mailman when he or she comes.NO CHECK! Check made it to the USPS Distribution Center and was stolen(in my own opinion) because it never made it to me or my mailman. I reported this missing mail and an investigation is active. Trying to get a SUFS rep on the line is near to impossible. On hold for ever and on hold in the chat for hours and then they close it out at 5pm. I have no clue what to do or if I will ever get the check resent or if SUFS has other methods to disburse the funds! I just want answers on the next steps!

Update: They advised me to call in this review but STILL tell me they have no update and to wait for an email. I finally received an email telling me funds were going to be sent by the end of the month(last month) and funds STILL have not been sent! At this rate they have misappropriated government funds and I plan on writing legislation regarding this issue! They tried to tell me they have not received money from the state yet and that is the hold up! This is just the most disgusting situation I have ever experienced! This is people’s lives and they honestly do not even care!!! Horrible customer service. They can not provide you with any information that is helpful. Emailed where they advised and I have not received any emails back. They just tell me I have to sit and wait, they leave parents in the dark about what is going on. We are the ones who are struggling and they can not even stick to a certain date for funding. Soon is not an acceptable answer! Neither is wait for an update. They need to be able to provide accurate information when dealing for people’s financial services. It’s disgusting the disregard they are showing and the lack of empathy! Just GROSS!!!

My experience has been mixed. Many times I’ve thought if there are thousands of scholarship accounts , each submitting say just 3 or 4 a quarter (I’m sure some submit a lot more reimbursement requests), how could they possibly review all these submissions in a timely manner? Realizing the answer is SUFS cannot. So if you can be patient, or don’t mind leaving purchases on credit cards for months then i guess this is better than nothing. I haven’t received any funds since September and have long since used those up. It’s pointless submitting customer service requests because they are flat out overwhelmed.
